Delhi Belly Review

Stupidity or humour can be intelligent. And in the past few releases, Bollywood has been banking on comedy flicks as far as success ratio is concerned.
Success report of Golmaal 3 and recently released Double Dhamaal, may be an encouraging mantra for Aamir Khan productions third film Delhi Belly (After Peepli Live and Dhobi Ghat), which is set to hit the theaters on 1st July.

Like Peepli Live, Aamir Khan has once again taken worthy risk with a script of unknown writer Akshat Verma. However, the director Abhinay Deo has done perfect treatment with the script, though it is a flick for limited audience.

In the country like India, where people have different tastes, the flick Delhi Belly can’t target huge number of audience.

Most of the dialogues are in English and it portrays a story of metropolitan cities and targets an audience aged between 20-30 year-old. The flick will fail to inspire your father or mother as Golmaal and Double Dhamaal do.

Despite of limited target Audience, the Delhi Belly has good script but it fails to justify the title Delhi Belly. Yes, there is a case of Delhi in couple of scenes—first one is when eating Tandoori Chicken from a street vendor and second one is diarrhoea case.

The story of the film revolves around five characters-- Tashi (Imran Khan), Nitin (Kunaal Roy Kapur), Arup (Vir Das), Sonia (Shenaz Treasury) and Menaka (Poorna Jagannath).

In Tashi’s life, there are two wacky women Sonia and Menaka. There are several coincidences and accidental exchanges, which will make you blast into laugh.

However, second half of the film is little bit low but over all Director has done the justice with the flick Delhi Belly.

Imran has definitely discarded his chocolaty image with this flick. The songs of the flick, which inspired of KL Sehgala era, also leave marks on audience. Bhaag DK Bose and Nagad Wale Disco are already topping the chartbuster.

The special attraction of the film is Aamir Khan’s much talked item number.
In one word, the movie is must watch flick if you are a fan of Aamir’s innovation.
