Drop Dead Diva is set to premiere June 19th at 9 p.m. on Lifetime.
According toDaemonstv.com, The third season opener will once again feature quite a few celebrities, including Paula Abdul, who reprises her role as Jane’s voice of reason; LeAnn Rimes, playing the estranged soon-to-be ex-wife to a hard-partying celebrity who is on trial for a hit-and-run case that Jane takes on; Wendy Williams, and Mario Lopez. In addition, the premiere episode will feature a musical dream sequence with the cast of Drop Dead Diva, choreographed by So You Think You Can Dance ‘ Keith “Tyce” Diorio.
“Drop Dead Diva,” is the story of a beautiful-but-vapid model wannabe Deb, played by Brooke D’Orsay, finding herself in front of heaven’s gatekeeper, Fred, played by Ben Feldman, following a fatal car crash.
“Outraged by her sudden demise, she attempts to persuade Fred to return her to her shallow existence but is accidentally relegated to the body of the recently deceased Jane Bingum played by Brooke Elliott. An intelligent, thoughtful and plus-size attorney with a loyal assistant, Teri played by Margaret Cho, Jane has always lived in the shadow of her colleagues, whereas Deb has always relied on her external beauty.
