Two Towers
International Capital Trading and its contractors Arabtec Construction and National Projects & Construction successfully lifted into place the section weighing more than 400t.
The sky bridge is made out of structural steel and enveloped with aluminium and glass cladding and is supported at four points in the two towers.
The overall installation of the bridge consisted of three major operations: assembly, lifting and positioning. Computer-controlled hydraulically operating lifting and sliding jacks were used to lift the section into place 202.5m above ground level, making it what is claimed to be the tallest sky bridge in the world. The sky bridge structure connects Nation Towers 1 and 2 at the 50th and the 54th levels.
The Nation Towers is a mixed-use development designed by WZMH Architects. It consists of a 64–storey residential tower, a 50–storey luxury hotel and office tower and a retail podium.
