Mahindra Verito

Mahindra Verito
Mahindra & Mahindra has renamed the Logan as the ‘Verito’ (Truth in Latin) thus keeping up with the tradition at Mahindra where names of cars always end with an ‘O’. This comes as Renault-Nissan dropped the Logan and terminated the deal with Mahindra & Mahindra who had partnered Renault-Nissan earlier.
Mahindra still have the rights to produce the Logan and the re-badging was looking inevitable. Now, Mahindra produce the Logan without any intervention from Renault-Nissan. However, the company still does provide the transmission and engine for the Verito (Logan).
Mahindra & Mahindra were initially thought to relaunch the Logan with the new name which didn’t happen. Instead, they have just announced that the Logan from now on will be called the Mahindra Verito. The Verito will be an entry-level mid-sized sedan for the masses. The main rivals of the Verito will be the Tata Indigo CS which is priced around the same bracket as the Verito.
The Verito comes with a 1.4 litre and 1.6 litre petrol and 1.5 litre diesel engines and is priced from Rs 4.5 lakh to Rs 6.45 lakh ex-showroom Pune. The diesel motor of the Verito is extremely torquey and has a nice low- end grunt which allows for hassle- free city driving.
