O’Keeffe, speaking on ABC radio this morning, said he would bat the boom Toombul teenager at No.3 for Australia against Sri Lanka in August.
In a revamp which would see Ricky Ponting drop down to No.4 and Michael Clarke dropped from the side, O’Keeffe said he would bat Lynn at No.3. He would retain NSW’s Usman Khawaja who played first drop in the Sydney Test, as an opener.
``He has the technique to bat in the early order,’’ O’Keeffe said.
This season Lynn, batting at No.4, has scored 460 runs at an average 51 which includes one century and a score of 99.
Last year in three matches Lynn scored 220 runs at 36 which included a break through 136 against Western Australia.
Lynn is a talent out of the box.
Not since Sandgate-Redcliffe’s Martin Kent burst onto the scene with a 140 on debut for Queensland in 1976 has the northern suburbs seen such an exciting young batsman.
