The Cherry Creek School District Board of Education is willing to consider a complete revision of the nutrition policy of the council at its regular meeting on Monday.
Cherry Creek Assistant Superintendent Scott Siegfried is a special report on food and nutrition at the meeting on 10 January audit. The deposit is signed within one month after President Barack Obama the "Healthy Eating Free Kids Act of 2010" into law. The federal legislation, access to healthy food for low-income children to increase authorization 4500000000 $ in new funding for nutrition programs.
According to Cherry Creek Executive Director Support Services Rick Collier, Siegfried will report to highlight the district guidelines for nutrition, and compared with the requirements of federal law.
"It is an overview of who we are, how many meals are served and then type some states rules before going," said Collier. "We have a number of rules of nutrition are taken to ensure that the requirements of the Colorado Department of Education."
Collier said that the debate and a possible increase in food prices for students who are not entitled to free meals or reduced price.
"They require that all districts increased over time, prices paid to meet the federal discount," said Collier. "You could increase prices as much as 10 cents in the year."
Monday meeting is also set to include a presentation of flowers Deputy Superintendent Eric thinking maps, a new tool for teachers in the district.
