Shimoga

Rajesh Singh and SK Moinuddin took a five-for each to power Bangalore City XI to a thumping innings and 96-run victory over Shimoga Zone in the SA Srinivasan memorial trophy under-25 cricket tournament match here at the IAF (T) ground on Friday.
Having posted a challenging score of 293 in their first innings on Thursday, Bangalore City bowlers went about their task of dismantling Shimoga Zone in effective fashion on Friday, finding heroes in Rajesh and Moinuddin.

First it was Rajesh who set the tone for the victory, his fine fiev for 37 playing a huge role is shutting out a listless Shimoga Zone for a paltry 106 in 38.4 overs. Trailing by 187 runs, Shimoga Zone were asked to follow on and their second innings display was even more abject.

Under pressure, Shimoga Zone crumbled without much fight, surrendering for a dismal 91 in 38.1 overs. The wrecker-in-chief this time around was Moinuddin, who took five for 42 in the second innings to add to the two he scalped in the first innings.
