Ford India on Thursday launched the new Ford Fiesta in the premium C-segment at a price that is bound to attract buyers in hoards.
Priced at Rs 8.23 lakh, it definitely is a good bargain for the customers in the segment.
ITGD caught up with a buyer. "I was keen on buying a car in the segment and this is certainly up to the mark," said Ajay Verma. "I guess the pricing has been done by Ford keeping in mind the rising fuel prices," he added.
Although the timing of the launch, which took place in Mumbai was ill-timed, keeping in mind Wednesday's blaststhat rocked the city.
Nevertheless, the car is expected to give stiff competition to other cars in the class - namely Maruti Suzuki SX4, Honda City, Volkswagen Vento and new Hyundai Verna.
The new Ford Fiesta is the first of the eight new cars for India from Ford in the segment.
Ford India have priced their new offering in range of Rs 8.23 to 9.42 lakh for the petrol variant and Rs 9.27 lakh to 10.42 lakh for the diesel. Both the petrol and diesel will be available in four variants - Style, Trend, Titanium and Titanium+.
