Mega Millions

Lottery officials say someone in Herndon bought a Mega Millions ticket that matched all six numbers for the $107 million jackpot.
John Hagerty of the Virginia Lottery says in a press release that the winner has not yet claimed the prize. Officials said the ticket was sold at the Giant grocery store at 1228 Elden St. The store will get a $50,000 bonus from the Virginia Lottery.
If the winner chooses to take a lump sum, it would be about $68.1 million before taxes. The winner can also choose to have the jackpot paid out over 26 annual payments.
Lottery revenues help fund public education in the state. Lottery officials say this is the seventh Mega Millions jackpot won in Virginia since the game began in 2002.
