Great Eastern Run |
The event is Asia's biggest women-only run and is into its sixth edition.
The 19-year-old champion from Kenya won S$5,000 for topping the Open category. In second place was 30-year-old Anne Date, who set a national record as the fastest Singaporean in the race with a time of 38 minutes and nine seconds.
No mean feat considering she was up against 12,000 or so other women.
She said: "In the past six days, I've just been sitting down and sleeping you know, did quite little running. I tried to recover as much as I can so (as to) get ready for this race. So my preparation was just to stay still."
