Malaysian police have announced road closures and traffic diversions in Kuala Lumpur for Saturday, July 9th. (See below for the list of locations) Additionally, persons linked to the planned rallies have been barred from the city centre.
The Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur is in a state of significant tension as authorities move to prevent the political rallies (including Bersih 2.0) planned for Saturday from taking place.
If you're heading into the Kuala Lumpur city centre on Saturday or plan to, please be aware that the police have announced road closures and/or traffic diversions for the following locations:

- Along Jalan Syed Putra, Jalan Istana, Jalan Bukit Petaling, Jalan Bellamy and the area surrounding Istana Negara (National Palace);
- Along Jalan Sultan Hishammuddin, Jalan Lembah Perdana, Jalan Chenderasari and the area surrounding Masjid Negara (National Mosque);
- The area surrounding Dataran Merdeka, Pasar Seni, Masjid Jamek, Dataran DBKL, Kompleks Sogo, Maju Junction, Masjid Kampung Baru, Jalan Kinabalu, Jalan Kuching, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Raja Laut, Jalan Sri Amar, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Haji Taib, Jalan Raja Muda Musa, Jalan Raja Bot, Jalan Raja Abdullah, Jalan Dang Wangi, Jalan Munshi Abdullah, Jalan Gereja, Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Tun Perak, Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Loke, Jalan Sultan Mahmud and all nearby areas.
Police said that the road closures and traffic diversions would commence at 12.01am on Saturday, July 9th.
Additionally, authorities have barred 91 persons from the Kuala Lumpur city centre on the aforementioned date, The Star (a Malaysian daily) reported. The 91 are believed to be key people behind the planned rallies. The seemingly bipartisan list includes Datuk S. Ambiga (lead organiser of Bersih 2.0), Umno Youth chairman Khairy Jamaluddin, Perkasa president Datuk Ibrahim Ali, and opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
