Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig were secretly married at a ceremony in New York City last week, reports People.com.
The actors’ top secret ceremony was attended by only a small handful of people - Weisz’s young son from her previous relationship with director Darren Aronofsky, Craig's 18-year-old daughter, Ella, plus a pair of unidentified witnesses.
A source reportedly told the News of The World, "Daniel and Rachel insisted on having a small, quiet wedding.”
"They are madly in love and couldn't wait to be husband and wife — but they wanted minimum fuss,” the source said.
“They had a couple of friends as witnesses and their children from previous relationships and that was it,” they added.
Weisz split from Aronofsky, director of “Black Swan” and “The Wrestler,” last year, after a nine-year relationship, reports People.com.
In a case of art imitating life, Craig and Weisz play husband and wife in the film "Dream House," a thriller set to hit theaters in the fall.
Reportedly, this is the film in which the pair became romantically involved during filming nine months ago.
43-year-old Craig became well known internationally after he was cast as the sixth actor to portray fictional secret agent James Bond in the film series.
He made his début as the character in the 2006 film, "Casino Royale." He was critically acclaimed, and was nominated for a BAFTA award, for his portrayal in the film.
Weisz came to wider prominence in 1999 after starring in “The Mummy.” The 41-year-old took home an Academy Award in 2006 for her supporting role in "The Constant Gardner."
