Montreal

A surveillance video at the University of Quebec at Montreal shows that Mario Hamel charged police twice with a knife before being shot by police on Tuesday morning, reports the Journal de Montreal.

The video also shows that Patrick Limoges —_across the street and on his way to work at a nearby hospital —_was struck in the neck by a bullet that ricocheted more than 50 metres.

According to news reports, the video shows police asking Hamel repeatedly to relinquish his knife. When police were about six metres from Hamel, the homeless man charged at them once. It was when he charged the second time that police opened fire.

The funeral for Hamel was held on Saturday. The funeral for Limoges will be held Sunday.
