When asked about the basic lessons he’s teaching his boys, aged five and three, Hrithik answers, “I just ensure that Hrehaan and Hridaan throw their hands up in the air, let their feet loose and move their body randomly, trying to catch up with the music that they hear. I believe that before you become a professional dancer, you have to accept yourself as a stupid dancer who doesn’t care for who’s watching him and who’s passing comments. You just have to let yourself flow with the song and that will help you shed your inhibitions. Only then can you rise and shine like a true performer.”
The actor reveals that his sons enjoy dancing to the songs from his movies, whether they are from his debut Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai (2005) or from Jodhaa Akbar (2008) or any other that he’s featured in. “They’re just thrilled that their dad part of the song. Right now, they dance to the Just Dance anthem. They adore it,” he beams. “So, I just have to get home. It doesn’t matter whether I’m tired or not. One of my boys dresses up as Superman and the other as Batman with me in the centre as a regular man. We play the song and throw our hands and legs around. That’s the kind of dance I really enjoy.”
Does momma Sussanne join in the fray too? “At times, she does,” smiles Hrithik. “She’s usually pretty happy to see the three of us behaving so stupidly in the house. Sometimes, she shows us a step or two, and sometimes, she stops the music to remind us that it’s time for dinner.”
