Hertz

Hertz invested £2 million ($3.26 million) in installing a more energy saving lighting system in the reception space, Gold Patrons collection point and petrol filling areas of the facility. The Gold Patrons section has been equipped with Riegens Drive petrol canopy fitting which provides direct light.
The fitting used with other lighting controls reduces energy consumption as it is automatically switched off during daytime and dimmed in the night when not in use. The system also features presence detection which enables the lights to automatically switch on to full power immediately upon the arrival of a customer to collect a vehicle. The current HID fittings in the petrol forecourt section have been replaced with Drive fitting which comprises 2 x 55w TCL lamps with absence/presence detection controls.
The main reception area has undergone a complete facelift with installation of Riegens recessed DL- ECO downlights comprising compact fluorescent 2 x 14W lamps. DL-ECO luminaires run low on energy consumption by 25% over similar compact lamps. It also possesses high frequency controls and delivers more than 50% savings as against electromagnetic systems. The facility's public spaces have been equipped with Riegens Capro recessed 600mm x 600mm luminaires which also feature absence/presence detection sensors.
The project is estimated to deliver energy savings of 54% to the Hertz office, as per Riegens' estimates.
