FireWorks

You could call it one of Belle Isle's biggest parties of the year.
The pop-up tents are in place, the pigskin is flying through the air and fishing poles are in the Detroit River.
Hundreds of metro Detroiters are passing the time patiently right now waiting to watch the city skyline be awash in color.
But getting these prime seats along the river to watch the 53rd annual Target Fireworks takes dedication.
Marcus Cheathum of Detroit got off from work early to get to Belle Isle, arriving at 6:30 a.m.
"We love sitting by the water. We do it all the time anyway, so this is very relaxing for us," Cheathum said.
Spectators like Cannie Porter, who got to the island a little later, were still able to secure a sweet spot to view the spectacular display.
"We got out here at 8:30 a.m. We wanted to get out here around 6 o'clock but ran a little late. We still got a good spot, so we're good."
Porter said the yearly trek is all about making memories for her sons and continuing a family tradition.
"My dad used to bring me down here. It's always been a family thing," Porter said.
With some folks waiting upward of 18 hours to see the fireworks, there's no shortage of activities planned to help pass the time.
"We got kites. They got their toys, their bikes. We're going to walk over to the beach a little later, make a day of it," Porter said.
