Dallas Mavericks

Congratulations to Mark Cuban and the Dallas Mavericks as they are the new NBA champions! A few reactions to the series:

• I am so thrilled for MVP Dirk Nowitzki, who has been in the NBA for 13 years and now has a championship ring to show for it. He is a Hall of Famer and now he doesn't have to hear about not winning a title. Nowitzki was so clutch in the fourth quarter of every game and it was his effort in winning time that made the difference.
• Jason Terry was also fantastic! The veteran said his team was going to win and he came through with 27 big points in the final game on Sunday. Terry remembered the loss in 2006 to Miami and that helped motivate him.
• I am so happy for Jason Kidd as he gets a ring after 17 years. He is a sure fire Hall of Famer.

• I think you have to give credit to Dallas for great defense. The ability to shut downDwyane Wade and LeBron James in the paint was a huge factor in this series. Rick Carlisle did a great coaching job by using the zone to contain Miami's scorers.
• The decision to go to Miami has now created a long, long off-season for James. He has been a great player in this league yet he doesn't have a ring after eight seasons. You better believe there was joy in the hearts of many in Cleveland! The Cavalier fans had to be happy as they were rooting against King James from the start.
• The bottom line is that basketball is a team game. Dallas played as a team and the Mavericks bench was outstanding throughout the playoffs. Let's give credit to the entire squad for winning the championship. It was the effort of Tyson Chandler, J.J. Barea, Shawn Marion and company as well as Nowitzki, Terry and Kidd.

Congratulations to Dallas as there is celebration galore down in the Lone Star state.
