For Saturday, the 2011 CCL schedule had the Rhinos taking on the Telugu Warriors, while the favorite team to win it all, the Karnataka Bulldozers, went against the Mumbai Heroes. The Rhinos won the game by 21 runs over Telugu, with Vishnu named Man of the Match. The Bulldozers won by 7 wickets, with Druv announced as their Man of the Match. Shanthanu of the Rhinos and Apoorv of the Mumbai Heroes were named “Best Bowlers” of the opening day.
To make things quite interesting these two winning teams are scheduled to face off on Sunday, June 5th, 2011. The game starts at 1PM local time at Chennai. In the evening game, the two losing teams, the Telugu Warriors and Mumbai Heroes will face off. Then, next weekend will see two more games, followed by Sunday’s championship in Hyderabad.
Right now it appears Karantaka remains the favorite, although the Chennai Rhinos were certainly impressive today. Tomorrow will show which of these two Celebrity Cricket League teams is in top form right now, a week away from the first ever championship match.
