There’s a lot for the team members of ‘Karnataka Bulldozers’ to cheer about and celebrate. This is perhaps the only team that has won all the matches they played in Celebrity Cricket League (CCL). Their fantastic victory against ‘Mumbai Heroes’ and ‘Chennai Rhinos’ has taken the team to the semi-finals.
In an effort to thank all the supporters and fans, ‘Karnataka Bulldozers’ recently organised a press conference in a city hotel. Speaking on the team’s victory, Sudeep, the captain said, “It is a combined effort of the team and the coach that got us our victory.
Our rigorous practice sessions for the last one and a half months didn’t go in vain. I was surprised when the fans celebrated our first victory at midnight by bursting crackers on the streets.”
He added that each team member has contributed to the success of the team and they have got a new identity through their spellbinding performances during the match. As a captain, he said, he had a tough time during first match. “As soon as we entered the stadium, all eyes were staring at us with big expectations. It was a tensed moment for me. We played under so much of pressure. The situation was much calmer in Chennai. There was no one to abuse us whenever we dropped a ball,” he laughed.
Talking about the team’s preparation for the upcoming matches, Sudeep said, “Our biggest strength is our discipline. We will continue the same spirit until the final match. After playing two matches, we got a clue about the strength and weaknesses of other teams. According to that, we have couple of game plans in mind and we will execute them on the ground. I am sure that we will enter the finals and win the Cup,” he assured.
He added, “It would be great if Shivanna would have played in the matches. Despite his health issues, he came for the first match and supported us,” he said. He also thanked Ambareesh and the Kannada film industry for supporting the team. He thanked coach GK Anil, physiotherapist Ramakanth, doctor Harish and others for their contribution.
G K Anil, the man behind the success was proud of the team. “I had noticed the potentialities of these actors during ‘Dr Raj Cup’ which was held some time back in Davanagere. The CCL provided a platform for these guys to prove themselves. They deserve success as they have worked hard,” he felt.
All the team members and the brand ambassador Madhuri Bhattacharya were present on the occasion. ‘Karnataka Bulldozers’ will be playing against ‘Telugu Warriors’ and ‘Chennai Rhinos’ will take on ‘Mumbai Heroes’ in the semi-finals on June 11 at Vizag. Winners of each set will play for the finals scheduled to be held at Hyderabad on June 12.
