Burn Notice

Tonight the long wait ends when Burn Notice returns to USA Network for its fifth season.
And this time around, fans (and comics lovers) will also be treated to some extra content: an interactive graphic novel called A New Day, debuting today.
Created in partnership with DC Comics, A New Day bridges the storylines between the fourth and fifth seasons.
"(A graphic novel) has absolutely no creative limitations," says Alexandra Shapiro, SVP of brand marketing and digital for USA Network. We spoke on the phone about the ambitious project, which will last 12 weeks.
"It becomes sort of a unique extension of the ongoing Burn Notice mythology. ... We are very well aware that no one watches television passively anymore."
Issues of the graphic novel will include games, ciphers, "peelaways" revealing steps of the art process, exclusive video and more. The project was overseen by series creator Matt Nix.
As for the look of the pages, Shapiro says "we wanted it to feel theatrical but sort of with a Miami edge."
"I think we are giving a gift to our core fanbase," Shapiro says. "We're at a point in our evolution that you can read it (if you don't watch the series) and you can get it, but if you have some understanding of the show, it's an enhanced experience."
The graphic novel is available on usanetwork.com, Facebook and as a freestanding iOS and Android app. Tonight's season premiere airs at 9 p.m. ET.
