Sarah Mclachlan

Singer songwriter Sarah McLachlan was parodied on an episode of South Park as a nurse caring for babies born addicted to crack.McLachlan, 43, had several hits in the early 2000s, and most recently she’s been seen on several animal welfare commercials. South Park poked fun at those recent appearances (it wasn’t really her voice; McLachlan gave permission for the music to be played, but had no other involvement with the episode).
“Oh no it’s that super-sad Sarah McLachlan commercial, look away,” Kyle shouts, as slow-motion images of drug-addled babies spread across the screen.
“Hello I’m Sarah McLachlan. I was famous for two months,” says the character, holding one of the children. Later in the episode the boys establish the Crack Baby Athletic Association, where they charge make money to watch cocaine-addicted babies play sports.
Of course, at Speakeasy we know the real Sarah is nothing like the South park version. Here’s the singer-songwriter performing at the WSJ Cafe last year.
