Penelope Cruz and Johnny Depp received a rapturous applause from screaming fans as they attended a photo opportunity at the 64th Cannes Film Festival.
The pair were there to promote the new Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides movie which is due for release in the UK on May 20.
Wearing a skin tight Stella McCartney dress in dark blue and black the stunning actress posed for pictures with co-star Depp who has received worldwide fame for playing swashbuckling - and sometimes a rather unsteady - Captain Jack Sparrow.
The three films have earned billions at the box office as children and adults have flocked to watch Depp get up to his latest antics.
Female fans were also left screaming for more after Depp decided to greet fans who had been waiting hours just to catch a glimpse of the star as he attended the photo opportunity with the rest of the cast.
Film bosses have said the latest film has a much simpler story-line and is jam packed with daring stunt scenes that will leave viewers shivering with fear.
Gone are Jack's former partner's in crime, Will and Elizabeth (Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley) who have now married and sailed into the sunset to live happily ever after.
In the new Pirates film Depp is joined by one of Captain Sparrow's old flame's Angelica, played by Cruz, who is the daughter of Blackbeard, played by Ian McShane.
The pair then head off on a mission together to try and find the fabled Fountain of Youth.
Despite taking part in action scenes Cruz was pregnant during filming but the star said the cast and crew were careful to make sure she was kept safe the entire time.
Things didn’t quite go as smoothly for her co-star Depp, who plays the infamous Jack Sparrow, who ended up with an injury after shooting a daring stunt.
Depp said he damaged his back during filming but was determined not to let the ailment stop him from filming.
The pair posed alongside newcomers Sam Caflin, who plays Philip, a youthful missionary and Astrid Berges-Frisbey who plays a beautiful, alluring mermaid called Syrena.
Once they were finished the cast hopped on a boat before heading back to their hotel.
Cruz clearly took this as an opportunity to relax and remove her shoes after days of walking around and posing in killer heels.
She then forgot them on the boat but was quickly handed them back by a bodyguard.
