JNU MMS

JNU MMS
An expelled Jawaharlal Nehru University student wanted for his involvement in preparing an obscene video clipping of fellow student was arrested on Friday. The accused Janardhan Kumar was nabbed from the Nawada district of Bihar where he had fled after police began to search for him.

"The accused was in a relationship with the victim and he made this video clipping using a hidden camera in the room of one Rahul. Janardhan converted the recorded clip into a video file with the help of his friend Balbir and the same was copied onto a CD and circulated in the campus. We are trying to recover the laptop, camera and other accessories used for this purpose,'' said DCP (south) Chhaya Sharma. After the video was circulated in the campus, JNU authorities conducted an enquiry and expelled Janardhan, Balbir and Rahul. "He then went to Nawada in Bihar and opened a coaching centre there," Sharma added.

Police said during interrogation, Janardan disclosed that he came to Delhi in 2008 after getting admission in BA in Korean language in JNU. He knew the girl from Bihar. In 2009, she also got admission in JNU and moved into the same hostel. The incident was reported to police on February 12 when the chief security officer of JNU filed a complaint at Vasant Kunj (north) police station and also submitted the report of an internal enquiry conducted by the university regarding the obscene video clip. A case under IPC section 292 (preparing indecent material) and IT Act was registered at Vasant Kunj (north) police station.
