Girls have outshined boys with better pass percentages in both the Class 10 (ICSE) and Class 12 (ISC) board examinations this year.
The Council announced today that the pass rate for students in Class 12 this year was 97.24% which is 0.13% higher than last year. The pass percentage for Class 10 was 98.61%, which is 0.30% higher than last year.
The number of students who had appeared for the ISC exams this year was 57,487 whereas the number of students who took the ICSE examinations was 1,22,347. Theexaminations were conducted in March.
While the pass percentage for boys this year in Class 10 was 98.1%, for girls it was 99.15%. The pass percentage for Class 12 was 98.40% in case of girls and 96.30% for boys.
The best result in Class 10 examinations was displayed by the southern region with a cumulative pas percentage of 99.72% followed by the Western region with a pass percentage of 99.63%.
The highest percentage of girls who appeared for the examination was also from the southern region, amounting to 48.77%. Also, the best pass percentage in Class 12 was also from the southern region at 98.28%, closely followed by the western region with a pass percentage of 97.80%.
In the Delhi and NCR regions, girls outperformed boys again in both Class 10 and Class 12 examinations. 98.99% girls cleared the examination whereas the pass percentage for boys is 98.47%. For Class 10, the pass percentage of girls was 98.55% as compared to 98.26% for boys.
The pass percentage for Class 10 for this region was 98.72% which was higher by 0.46% than last year and for Class 12 is 98.41% which is higher than last year by 1.53%.
According to the Council, the marksheets for Class 12 will be sent to schools on May 19 and a day later for Class 10.
