Dead Island

After letting the cat out of the bag for the November 8 release date of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, it is possible that Amazon has done exactly the same for upcoming first-person-zombie-melee-epic, Dead Island.
The online retailer has given Dead Island a release date of September 30, 2011, on its UK website, where the game is available for pre-order. Strangely, a U.S. release date is also listed on Amazon, but it states that the game will be released much earlier, on August 1, 2011.
While Amazon isn’t the official source for release date information, GameStop.com also give the game a an August 1 U.S. release date while UK retailer GAME.co.uk also has a listing of September 2011 for UK customers. Also, the amazon date was spot on for Modern Warfare 3, so we are hoping that this is the case with Deep Silver’s Dead Island. Hopefully, the official release date will come to light at E3, where the game is set for its big reveal in just a few weeks time. For UK gamers’ sakes, we hope that the U.S. release date is the more accurate of the two!
Be sure to check out the launch trailer for Dead Island, as well as screenshots and a more recent teaser trailer and let us know if you plan to buy the game on its possible release date in September this year.
Dead Island is set to release later this year for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
