Chicago Weather

Heavy rain caused scattered flash flooding in some northern Indiana communities as part of a storm wave that caused damage in other areas of the state.
Some street flooding happened Monday evening in the city of Huntington. Huntington County emergency management director Brandon Taylor tells The Herald-Press a suspected tornado struck a wooded area a few miles south of the city.
The National Weather Service reports that residents from a trailer park in the nearby city of Wabash were moved to temporary housing because of high water.
Utilities reported more than 11,000 homes and business in southern and central Indiana remained without power Tuesday morning. The largest concentrations were in the Bloomington and Jeffersonville areas.
