'Well, Tripp was born into a one-parent home, a single-parent home, and it's difficult for him,' Bristol told CBS News of her two-year-old son.
'You know, I don't have a college education yet. I don't have a steady job. And it's difficult for all teen moms, no matter what they're background is,' she added.
Bristol was 18 when she was appointed as a teen ambassador for the New York-based foundation, months after giving birth to Tripp.
Tax documents recently revealed she earned $262,500 for the role in 2009.
