Blue Bloods

The much-anticipated finale to "Smallville" managed to make good on just about every promise -- there was an homage to Superman films of old, surprise appearances, and a final scene that caused everything from spontaneous sobbing that the show was over to unstoppable joy. It also managed to deliver the highest ratings of the season for The CW.
Overall, "Smallville" brought in a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic, and even ending up beating both ABC andNBC for the 9:00 p.m. hour (at least when it comes to these ad-friendly numbers). Elsewhere, "Shark Tank" and "Blue Bloods" both ended up rising for their season finales -- thanks to the success of the latter, it may have done well enough to get a renewal for another season.
Meanwhile, "CSI: NY" ended up dropping in its finale, which immediately brings some validation to the theory that it could be the first installment of the franchise to bite the dust. While "Flashpoint" may not have the stronger numbers, it is a show produced in Canada (and therefore does not require so much of a financial commitment).
Did you watch the "Smallville" finale even though you have not watched in recent years?
