Anna University was established on 4th September 1978 as a unitary type of University. It offers higher education in Engineering, Technology and allied Sciences relevant to the current and projected needs of the society.Besides promoting research and disseminating knowledge gained therefrom, it fosters cooperation between the academic and industrial communities.The University was formed by bringing together and integrating two well-known technical institutions in the city of Madras.

Test duration: 2 Hours
The question paper will have sections to
i. evaluate the candidate's ability to identify critically the data and apply the data to business decisions from given typical business situations.
ii. evaluate the skill of the candidate in answering questions based on the passages in the comprehension.
iii. evaluate the skill on solving mathematical problems at graduate level (including those learnt in plus two or equivalent level).
iv. test on determining data sufficiency for answering certain questions using the given data and the knowledge of Mathematics and use of day - to - day facts.
v. test the knowledge on written English with questions on errors in usage, grammar, punctuation and the like.

(a) Any recognised Bachelor’s degree with minimum 3 years duration in 10+2+3 / 4 years pattern
or
(b) Any recognised Bachelor’s degree in 10+3 years Diploma + 3 years pattern.

(c) B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch./B. Pharm. degree
Candidates who pass the qualifying degree course / who will be appearing for the final semester / year examination of the said qualifying degree course during April/ May 2011 may also apply for TANCET 2011.

Application Process:
The candidates can register for the entrance test in any one of the modes given below.
a. Spot Registration
Candidates can appear in person at the Co-ordinating Centres with the following documents:
i) Copy of X Std. or equivalent mark sheet
ii) Copy of XII Std. mark sheet or 3 years Diploma certificate
iii) Cash (or) Demand Draft.
iv) The SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu have to produce a copy of the permanent community certificate (card format) for availing fee concession.
b. Internet Registration
Candidates can register through internet by filling-up the application form, download and
send it to the contact address with the following enclosed:
i) Copy of X Std. or equivalent mark sheet
ii) Copy of XII Std. mark sheet or 3 years Diploma certificate
iii) Demand Draft.
iv) The SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu should enclose an attested copy of
the permanent community certificate (card format) issued by the competent authority of
Government of Tamil Nadu.

For candidates who register in person, a demand draft for Rs. 300/- (Rs. 150/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu) drawn in favour of “The Director, Entrance Examinations, Anna University,” payable at Chennai, obtained from any Nationalised Bank drawn on or after 01.04.2011 or cash, should be submitted along with the filled-in application, as the Entrance Test fee for M.B.A.
