Meet Dave

A few weeks back we told you about a brand new band on the block – they are called The Kixx. Since that initial little introduction, these four boys – David, Robbie, Dave and Jack – have been dazzling us journalists at various showcases and it’s fair to say, we like them.
“But they’re just another boy band,” we hear you all cry. "What's so different about them?"
Well, heatworlders, yes they are boys and yes they have formed a band. But The Kixx aren’t your usual gang of guys hanging out, singing a few tunes and trying to be famous. They’ve actually been jamming together for years – and for David and Robbie, they actually taught themselves to sing when they were a teenie 12-years-old. Impressed? You should be.
Since then of course they went on to meet drummer Dave and bassist Jack, completed their band and then played pub gigs until they got picked up by a big music mogul who put them up for lots of bigger shows – including the Blackpool Illuminations last year with – wait for it – Robbie Williams. The boys were so star struck, they refused to leave until they met the man himself and Robbie loved them so much he gladly gave them a few bits of advice on the music industry and how to be famous. They’ve also played on stage with McFly, The Saturdays and have been supporting Olly Murs on his most recent tour.
So basically, they have a nice back-story, they are very lovely, humble lads and more importantly they are super talented – they play their own instruments, sing without lots of hi-tech autotuning gadgets and even write their own songs.
So here’s their debut single, Already Gone, which is out in a few weeks. We reckon they're a bit of a mix of McFly and The Script with the charm of a young Take That (a winning combination) – so do listen and then share your thoughts on this hot new boyband...
