In the wake of the accusations which include money laundering and bank fraud, FullTilt Poker said that their business is a legal game which is harmless and enjoyed by players all over the planet. According to a statement from the company, Full Tilt Poker said that poker is “a game of skill enjoyed by millions of people” and said it remained committed to preserving the rights of poker fans “to play the game they love online.”
“Mr. Bitar and Full Tilt Poker believe online poker is legal — a position also taken by some of the best legal minds in the United States,” the company said.
The CEO of Full Tilt Poker, Raymond Bitar, was indicted along with Nelson Burtnick who is also an employee of the company. Both men are outside of the U.S. and have not been arrested yet. In addition to the charges, the government has also files a civil law suit for $3 Billion against the company.
All three poker sites, Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars, and Absolute Poker, were shut down by the FBI yesterday.
