Cougar Town |
As TV newswoman and author Gail Weathers, the star of “Friends” and“Cougar Town” has appeared in all four “Scream” films. David Arquette, whom she married, also has appeared in all four of the films.
Here’s a look at Cox’s “Scream” history:
“Scream” (1996): The original “Scream” took place around the one-year anniversary of the infamous rape and murder of the mother of Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell). Gail Weathers wrote a book about that crime, infuriating Sidney, but Gail eventually saves Sidney’s life.
“Scream 2” (1997): Gail has written a book about the murders in the original movie, and it has now become a movie called “Stab.” The murders start all over again at a preview for the movie. The relationship between Sidney and Gail is still uneasy, but Sidney helps Gail in the end and the two uncover the killer in the end.
“Scream 3” (2000): Members of the cast of “Stab 3: Return to Woodsboro” are being murdered. Gail, Dewey (David Arquette) and now friend Sidney investigate, eventually tracking down the killer. At the end of the movie, Gail and Dewey get engaged.
“Scream 4” (2011): Several years after the events of “Scream 3,” Gail, Dewey and Sidney now investigate murders occurring on the 15th anniversary of the original Woodsboro killings.
