Amy Smart is engaged! According to Us Weekly, the 35 year-old actress attended the Earth Lovers in Celebration of Earth Day event in New York City, wearing a pretty special piece of the earth – a huge diamond engagement ring! She admitted that HGTV hottie Carter Oosterhouse, 34, wasn’t her “boyfriend” anymore — but her “fiance!”
Amy said that the engagement was “very new” and “very exciting.” Word is that Carter proposed in L.A. earlier this week. A source says, “They are perfect for each other. Here are two wholesome, kind, sweet Midwestern types. Neither has sold out and gone Hollywood.” In fact, Amy and Carter met at a green charity event back in November.According to People, they were first spotted together in January. “They have lots of common interests,” an insider dished. “It’s still pretty new, but they seem to be having a blast together.”
You might recognize Carter as the hunky carpenter from TLC’s Trading Spaces.He also hosts a home improvement show, Carter Can. Amy will next appear in the ABCFamily holiday romcom 12 Dates of Christmas will Mark-Paul Gosselaar.
