As the kickoff for Super Bowl XLV nears, the Steelers and Packers will begin winding down their pregame preparations, but for those working inside Cowboys Stadium, things are just gearing up.
It will take seven officials, who collectively have 77 years of NFL officiating experience and 53 combined playoff assignments, along with roughly 60 footballs, to ensure the game runs smoothly on Sunday.
On game day:
• 442 Jani-King commercial cleaning crew members will clean the stadium and prepare it for the game.
• After the Lombardi trophy is handed out, 350 new cleaning crew members will arrive at midnight and work until 7:30 a.m. to get the stadium back in shape for stadium tours the next morning.
• The crew will have to clean up after a crowd of approximately 100,000, according to the NFL, plus another 15,000 party-pass patrons.
And with a crowd that size, what will all those fans eat?
There will be tons of nachos consumed during the game -- as in, an estimated 12 tons, which will include about 144,000 ounces of cheese, or 1 ounce of cheese for every Green Bay resident.

• 800 gallons of ketchup and mustard, which is about 1.5 ounces for every person who can fit into Heinz Field, the home of the Steelers.
• 5,000 pounds of popped corn.
• 70,000 pieces of fresh jumbo shrimp will be peeled.
• 15,000 Kobe beef sliders will be grilled.
• Over 10,000 pieces of sushi will be prepared.
Is your mouth watering yet? On to dessert. (Editor's note: If you're watching your waistline, you may want to skip this section.)
• Over 100,000 pieces of dessert will be baked.
• Over 10,000 s'more pops will be made.
• 10,000 handmade Texas blueberry caramels will be hand-cut and wrapped.
• 2,000 pounds of sugar, 1,000 pounds of flour and 1,000 pounds of chocolate will be used.
And after all that food, people will need something to wash it down with.
• Fans will consume 15,625 gallons of soda. If that were gasoline, it'd be enough to drive your car for three years straight.
• 8,000 gallons of water, or enough water to make nearly 200,000 pounds of Jell-O.
• 160 tons of ice, which is enough ice to make three hockey rinks.
I don't know about you, but I'm ready to fight through the snow to get to Texas just for this food.
To properly eat all these delicious treats, fans will use approximately 1 million cups and napkins during the big game. And to serve the fans, about 3,000 people will be working the concessions.
Hopefully the fans at Cowboys Stadium fans have a chance to catch the game in between meals.
And you at home are doing your part, as well. Super Bowl Sunday is the No. 1 day for snack-food consumption in the United States, with Americans spending more than $50 million stocking up on snacks for Super Sunday.
Oh, and one more statistic:
• 7 million -- The estimated number of employees who will not show up to work on Monday.
