UFC 126 Post-Fight Press Conference:
According to UFC president Dana White, 10,893 fans packed the Mandalay Bay Events Center on Saturday night, garnering the company a cool $3.6 million at the gate.
White once again reiterated that if welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre beats Jake Shields at UFC 129, he will be Silva’s next opponent.
Silva claimed the middleweight division was his home and didn’t intend on bouncing to the light heavyweight class once GSP arrives.
Belfort came to the presser late, but greeted Silva on his way in. It appears the former amigos have settled their differences.
Jones remained humble in victory and appreciated the opportunity to challenge Mauricio “Shogun” Rua for his 205-pound crown.
Per Jones, coach Greg Jackson requested “Bones” take some time away from the gym so his body recover. Jones was down for the R&R, but said he will be up to his YouTube-scouting ways ASAP.
