Woman Falls In Fountain While Texting |
Some people work tirelessly in the attempt to go viral on Youtube, but for the most part, it simply can’t be done intentionally (with the exception being Fred Figglehorn and Keenan Cahill).
Take Antoine Dodson for example. His hilarious rant to a local TV camera crew shot him to Internet meme stardom all thanks to the twisted sense of humor a number of bulletin board style websites.
But not everyone who earns ‘viral’ status is thrilled about it.
Take 49-year-old Cathy Cruz Marrero for example. She was apparently none-too-happy to find that a video of her texting her way into the bottom of a shopping mall wishing fountain was tearing up the web. In fact, it looks like she may plan to sue.
She told the NY Daily News reports that the released footage, taped at the Berkshire Mall in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania caused her to “roll up and stay home in bed for days.”
She admits she was texting a church friend when she made the fall, and that all she wanted to do was “just walk away.”
Truth be told, she may have gone completely unrecognized if it weren’t for her own efforts of self-ousting. She appeared on Good Morning America, where she discussed the potential for a lawsuit (check it out below).
Oh, and it appears that bathing in dirty fountain water may be the least of her problems. Reports state that she is actually facing five felony charges relating to an alleged theft incident back in 2007 that involved a stolen credit card.. She was eventually charged in 2009 with a handful of pretty serious accusations, including one for ‘receiving stolen property.’
What a bizarre story, eh?
